A visit to the College of Administration and Economics..

The College of Business and Economics was honored to receive Mrs. Ibtihal Hashem Sabit Director General of Private Sector Development at the Ministry of Commerce, on Thursday, October 17, 2024. She was received by the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Thaeir Ahmed Saadoon Al-Samman, who welcomed her and expressed his appreciation for the important role she plays in developing the private sector and enhancing cooperation between academic and economic institutions.

After the reception, Mrs. Ibtihal made an inspection tour in the corridors of the college accompanied by the Dean and a number of faculty members, where she was briefed on the various scientific departments and academic facilities, and discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the Ministry and the College to support student projects and develop educational programs that serve the private sector.
In order to enhance cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce, the Department of the Private Sector, a joint memorandum of understanding was signed between the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, and the Department of the Private Sector and the Ministry of Commerce in several axes, including economic, financial, accounting, administrative, industrial management and management information systems for the purpose of training and conducting workshops, seminars and joint conferences in order to promote the private sector and support it continuously, as the College of Administration and Economics is one of the most prominent supporters of the Ministry of Commerce, the Department of the Private Sector. The Dean of the Faculty directed the heads of scientific departments to have the titles of master’s theses and doctoral theses on topics that simulate, pertain, serve and support this important trend with regard to the private sector department in the Ministry of Commerce as it is concerned with providing many job opportunities, reducing the percentage of imports, and promoting and supporting local goods.
At the end of the visit, Mrs. Ibtihal stressed the importance of continuing this type of communication between the Ministry and academic institutions to achieve sustainable development in various economic fields.
