A scientific and cultural visit was made for professors and postgraduate students in the Department of Financial and Banking Sciences, headed by the Head of the Department, Professor Dr. Rafia Ibrahim Al-Hamdani, to the historical landmarks of Mosul.

Under the direction of the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Thaeir Ahmed Saadoon Al-Samman, a scientific and cultural visit was made for professors and postgraduate students in the Department of Financial and Banking Sciences, headed by the Head of the Department, Professor Dr. Rafia Ibrahim Al-Hamdani, to the historical landmarks of Mosul.

In the context of enhancing cultural and historical awareness among students, the Department of Financial and Banking Sciences at the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Mosul organized, on Monday, January 28, a scientific and cultural visit to the church complex and the Great Al-Nuri Mosque on the right side of the old city of Mosul, with the participation of an elite group of professors from the department and postgraduate students.

This visit aims to introduce students to the cultural heritage and cultural diversity that the city of Mosul is rich in, and to shed light on the historical and religious importance of these landmarks, which represent part of the national identity and human heritage. It also comes in the context of strengthening the link between the academic aspect and field knowledge, by reviewing the stages of reconstruction and the challenges facing the preservation of these archaeological sites.

The participants expressed their great interaction with the valuable historical and architectural information included in the visit, stressing the importance of such initiatives in  Enhancing cultural awareness and national belonging among students.
