The College of Administration and Economics Celebrates its First Generation at a Loyalty Gathering: More than 145 Graduates from Inside and Outside Iraq”

In an atmosphere filled with loyalty and gratitude, the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Mosul celebrated a delegation of the college’s first generation of graduates on Thursday, April 17, 2025, in the hall of the college’s new building, with a distinguished official and academic presence.

The ceremony began with a speech delivered by Professor Muzahim Al-Khayat, Chairman of the Parliamentary Higher Education Committee, in which he welcomed the attendees and emphasized the importance of this gathering, which embodies the spirit of belonging to prestigious academic institutions.

This was followed by a speech by Professor Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, who expressed his pride in the graduates who were the cornerstone of the college’s founding and academic renaissance.

Professor Thaeir Ahmed Saadoon Al-Samman, Dean of the College of Administration and Economics, also delivered a speech welcoming the graduates, praising their distinguished professional careers that have raised the name of the college both locally and internationally.

For his part, Major General Radhi Al-Mardasi, a first-generation graduate and organizer of the meeting, titled “Loyalty Meeting,” delivered a moving speech expressing his feelings of gratitude and loyalty to the college, which served as the starting point for their academic and professional careers.
The ceremony included a poem recited by poet Rafi Al-Sarraj, a first-generation graduate and media supervisor for the Yousef Thanoun Center in Mosul, expressing the meanings of loyalty and belonging to the college and university.

The ceremony witnessed widespread participation from more than 145 graduates from various Iraqi governorates and abroad, who came to renew their bonds of love and belonging.

In a gesture of appreciation, Major General Radhi Al-Mardasi presented honorary shields to Professor Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, and Professor Thaer Ahmed Saadoun Al-Samman, Dean of the College of Administration and Economics, expressing gratitude and appreciation for their role in the success of this meeting.  The ceremony concluded with honoring the honorees from the first generation with the college’s shield, followed by a group photo to document this historic moment.

It’s worth noting that the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Mosul was founded in 1968 and has since become a prominent academic institution that has contributed to providing Iraq with distinguished academic and administrative cadres.
