A Master’s thesis discussion in the Department of Economics on the Impact of Financial Variables on Economic Growth in a Sample of Countries (1990–2022).

The Department of Economics at the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Mosul discussed on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 a Master’s thesis entitled:
“Measuring and Analyzing the Impact of Some Financial Variables on Economic Growth in a Selected Sample of Countries for the Period (1990–2022)”
as part of the requirements for a Master’s degree in Economic Sciences.
Part of the discussion was attended by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Sinan Zuhair Muhammad Jamil, and his assistants for academic and administrative affairs.
The study was presented by student Qahtan Marouf Mansour, and aimed to analyze the relationship between some financial variables and economic growth in a group of countries, with a focus on the extent to which this relationship is affected by economic, political, and social factors, both at the local and international levels.
The study reached several conclusions, most notably: public expenditures had a positive and significant impact on economic growth rates in Jordan over the long term, while public expenditures had a negative and significant impact on economic growth rates in both Egypt and Algeria during the same period.
