Accounting in the Face of Corruption… A Training Course at the College of Administration and Economics – University of Mosul Reinforces Principles of Institutional Integrity

As part of its continuous efforts to promote a culture of integrity and establish sound administrative practices, the College of Administration and Economics – University of Mosul concluded the training course entitled:
“The Role of the Accounting and Auditing Profession in Reducing Financial and Administrative Corruption,”
which was held over two days, Monday and Tuesday, June 23–24, 2025, at the Continuing Education Hall – College Deanery Building, with the attendance of several staff members and faculty.

The course sessions were led and enriched by:
▪️ Assistant Professor Dr. Nashwan Talal
▪️ Assistant Professor Dr. Haitham Hashem
▪️ Assistant Professor Dr. Abdulwahid Ghazi

The course included valuable discussions on auditing tools and the ways the accounting profession can serve as the first line of defense against financial and administrative corruption. It also addressed the legal and professional framework governing internal control operations.

The sessions witnessed active engagement and constructive contributions from participants, all of which affirmed the importance of continuing such programs to develop competencies and safeguard institutions against financial and administrative misconduct.
