Strategic Leadership to Enhance Innovative Work: A Higher Diploma Research Defense at the University of Mosul, Department of Business Administration – College of Administration and Economics – University of Mosul

The Department of Business Administration at the College of Administration and Economics – University of Mosul, on Sunday, September 7, 2025, in Discussion Hall No. (1), held the higher diploma (equivalent to a master’s) research defense of the student Ahmed Shihab Rashid Al-Baqqal, titled: “The Impact of Strategic Leadership Practices on Activating Innovative Work Behavior: An Exploratory Study of the Opinions of a Sample of Employees in the Nineveh Governorate Office.”

The study aimed to identify the correlation and influence between strategic leadership practices and innovative work behavior, through its dimensions:

Strategic leadership practices: determining strategic direction, developing human capital, discovering and maintaining core competencies, sustaining an effective organizational culture, and establishing balanced organizational control.

Innovative work behavior: generating new ideas, promoting them, and implementing them.

The study concluded that strategic leadership practices have a clear impact on enhancing innovative work behavior, as the increased attention of leaders in the Nineveh Governorate Office to such practices positively reflected on the level of innovation in the work environment.
