A Higher Diploma Thesis Equivalent to a Master’s Degree Explores “Emotional Intelligence and Its Contribution to Enhancing Strategic Orientation” at the Department of Business Administration – College of Administration and Economics – University of Mosul

The Department of Business Administration – College of Administration and Economics – University of Mosul witnessed on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 on the discussion Hall No. (1), the defense of a higher diploma thesis equivalent to a master’s degree in the specialization of Strategic Security Planning. The thesis was presented by the student Shahen Nabeel Abdullah at the Department of Business Administration, College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, entitled:

“Emotional Intelligence and Its Contribution to Enhancing Strategic Orientation – An Analytical Study of the Opinions of a Sample of Managers in the Nineveh Governorate Office.”

The study aimed to shed light on the two variables: emotional intelligence and strategic orientation, and to identify the extent to which emotional intelligence contributes to strengthening various aspects of strategic orientation among the managers of the Nineveh Governorate Office.

The study reached significant conclusions, most notably: emotional intelligence contributes, through its dimensions, to supporting strategic orientation; as self-awareness and self-management enhance conscious decision-making and the ability to face challenges, while motivation supports innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship, and empathy contributes to understanding the market and stakeholders’ needs more effectively.
