The College of Administration and Economics at the University of Mosul witnessed the defense of the master’s thesis submitted by the student Anmar Abdul-Munim Hameed Al-Zubaidi, titled:
“Determinants of International Reserves Levels – An Analytical Study of a Sample of Arab Countries”, on Thursday, September 25, 2025, in Discussion Hall No. (1).
The study aimed to analyze the main factors influencing the formation and accumulation of international reserves with their various components. It addressed several indicators such as: foreign direct investment, foreign portfolio investment, capital account, trade balance, workers’ remittances, oil revenues, and Brent crude oil prices, while the dependent variable was the level of international reserves.
The study concluded that there is a clear variation in the impact of these variables between the short and long term, as well as between oil and non-oil countries. Accordingly, it recommended that future research should focus on isolating the most influential variables to serve as a foundation for any proposed model that is more precise and objective.
The session was attended by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Sinan Zuhair Mohammed Jameel, the Associate Dean for Scientific Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Salem Khalil Khalid, and the Associate Dean for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Dr. Abdulrahman Zuhair Abdulqader.
