Higher Diploma Thesis at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, Explores the Economic Feasibility of an Olive Farm Project in Bashiqa

The Department of Economics at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, discussed on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, in Discussion Hall No. (2), the Higher Diploma thesis titled:“Economic Feasibility Study of an Olive Farm Project in Bashiqa District.”
The study, submitted by Ahmed Saqi Jasem Mohammed, aims to examine the economic feasibility and sensitivity analysis of the olive farm project, in addition to presenting a proposal for establishing an integrated agricultural project that serves Nineveh Governorate, generates financial returns for private investors, and contributes to improving the climatic environment by expanding green cover.
The study concluded that the olive farm project has the potential to enhance the environmental climate of the region, as it is an agricultural project classified within the environmental “white list,” and forms part of the green belt surrounding the city of Mosul. The study also confirmed that the project is economically viable and profitable for private investors.
The discussion committee was chaired by Asst. Prof. Dr. Iman Mustafa Rashad – College of Administration and Economics / University of Mosul as a chair of the discussion, Lecturer Duha Salem Ahmed – College of Administration and Economics / University of Mosul as a member and Asst. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Fadel Hamadi – College of Administration and Economics / University of Mosul as a member and supervisor.
