Department of Accounting at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, Discusses a Higher Diploma Research on Environmental Auditing and Sustainable Development

The Department of Accounting at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, discussed on Sunday, 18 January 2026, a Higher Diploma research entitled: “Application of Environmental Auditing Procedures in the Nineveh Health Directorate and Its Role in Achieving Sustainable Development Goals,”
held in the Accounting Department Laboratory.
The research, presented by the student Alaa Raeid Mahmoud, aimed to clarify the effective role of environmental auditing procedures in addressing environmental pollution problems within the framework of applicable laws and regulations, thereby contributing to the support and achievement of sustainable development goals.
The study reached several conclusions, most notably that the concept of environmental auditing has evolved in response to the growing interest in monitoring the environmental performance of economic units. It also emphasized the necessity of designing a control system that provides management with accurate and reliable information on environmental performance, ensuring the achievement of specified environmental and developmental objectives.
