The Council of the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Mosul holds its 14th open regular session and discusses key academic and administrative matters

The Council of the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Mosul held its 14th open regular session for the 2025–2026 academic year on Thursday, 5 February 2026, at the College Deanship, chaired by Professor Dr. Sinan Zuhair Mohammed Jameel, Dean of the College, in the presence of the assistant deans, heads of academic departments, and a number of officials from relevant administrative divisions and units.
During the session, the Council approved the results of undergraduate studies beyond the first stage, in accordance with the decision of the Presidency of the University of Mosul and in line with approved university regulations and instructions. It also discussed mechanisms for hosting undergraduate students within the applicable organizational frameworks.
The Council further approved the formation of scientific committees within the academic departments tasked with developing undergraduate and postgraduate curricula in a manner consistent with labor market needs and responsive to modern economic and technological developments, thereby enhancing the quality of educational outcomes.
The meeting also addressed quality assurance issues, particularly those related to the visit of the National Program Accreditation Team to the academic departments, emphasizing the importance of institutional readiness and adherence to nationally approved standards.
With regard to postgraduate studies, the Council discussed the titles of Master’s theses and doctoral dissertations, stressing the necessity for originality, innovation, and relevance to real-world problems that serve the labor market and deliver tangible academic and practical value.
The Council also reviewed the progress rates of scientific research within research groups, underscoring the importance of encouraging faculty members to publish in reputable international indexed journals in support of the College’s research standing.
At the conclusion of the session, the minutes of the academic departments were read and discussed in detail, reaffirming a commitment to transparency, integrated academic and administrative performance, and sustainable planning that contributes to strengthening the University’s path toward institutional excellence and continuous development.
