Council of the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Mosul Holds Its Fifteenth Session and Approves Organizational and Academic Tracks for 2026–2027

The Council of the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Mosul held its fifteenth regular session for the academic year 2025–2026 on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at the Deanship headquarters. The session was chaired by Prof. Dr. Sinan Zuhair Mohammed Jameel and attended by the Assistant Deans and Heads of Academic Departments.
The Council commenced its proceedings by reviewing the administrative and academic directives issued by the University Council and discussing mechanisms for their implementation in a manner consistent with the requirements of the current phase, while enhancing institutional performance efficiency and administrative harmony within the College.
The agenda focused primarily on discussing the regulations governing applications for postgraduate studies for the academic year 2026–2027. The Council approved the formation of specialized academic committees to audit applicants’ files and ensure procedural accuracy and integrity. It also addressed matters related to the external examiner and visiting professor in accordance with the approved regulations.
Within the framework of developing the academic environment, the Council decided to assign departmental scientific committees to update curricula in alignment with labor market requirements and in consideration of rapid developments in artificial intelligence and modern technologies. This step aims to ensure that educational outcomes remain consistent with contemporary professional transformations.
Deliberations further covered several organizational and academic issues intended to enhance work mechanisms and strengthen coordination between academic departments and administrative units. Emphasis was placed, particularly within academic affairs, on strict adherence to educational regulations to ensure the regularity of the teaching process and the achievement of accredited quality standards.
The session concluded with the reading of departmental minutes and a detailed discussion of their items, reinforcing principles of transparency, role integration, and sustainable institutional planning that strengthens the College’s position within the University system and contributes to advancing its academic and administrative performance.
