The Department of Management Information Systems at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, initiated its guidance activities for the 2026–2027 academic year on Sunday, October 4, 2026, by holding an advisory workshop entitled “Discipline and Commitment: The Foundation of Academic Success and Excellence,” delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Asim Al-Salem, Head of the Department, in the presence of a group of department students.

​The workshop addressed the importance of discipline and commitment as two fundamental pillars for success in university life. The Head of Department welcomed the students, wishing them an academic year filled with success and distinction, emphasizing that the university stage represents a significant opportunity to build knowledge, develop skills, and refine the student’s academic and professional personality.

​He also urged students to maintain regular attendance at lectures, make good use of time, engage positively with faculty members, and adhere to academic requirements and university instructions, in addition to emphasizing the importance of abiding by the unified university dress code, as it reflects awareness, responsibility, and belonging to the educational institution, while contributing to promoting a civilized and proper appearance for the students, the department, and the college.

​The workshop concluded with an emphasis on the importance of enhancing cooperation and communication between students and the department, contributing to establishing a positive and motivating university environment, and supporting the students’ path toward academic excellence and building a promising professional future.
