The study aimed to evaluate the efficiency of allocating and optimally utilizing productive resources, given the relative scarcity of resources, particularly in developing countries, in a way that contributes to enhancing performance efficiency and supporting economic development paths. It also sought to determine the company’s ability to fulfill its obligations toward other economic units, in light of its interconnected relationships and forward and backward production linkages with various economic sectors.
The study arrived at several conclusions, most notably that the economic performance of Baghdad Company for Packaging Materials Industry during the period (2020–2024) was characterized by fluctuation and variance across efficiency and productivity indicators. Some indicators experienced relative improvement at the start of the study period, followed by a decline in subsequent years. The results also revealed the absence of a sustainable improvement trend in the company’s performance, particularly during 2023, which recorded a noticeable drop in return indicators, while 2024 saw a partial recovery that was insufficient to regain the efficiency levels achieved at the beginning of the period.
