Taking steps toward sustainability… The College of Administration and Economics at the University of Mosul continues to expand its green spaces by planting new saplings

Under the direct supervision of Prof. Dr. Sinan Zuhair Muhammad Jamil, Dean of the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Mosul, and with the follow-up of Dr. Abdulrahman Zuhair Abdulqader, Associate Dean for Administrative and Financial Affairs, and Mr. Saad Aed Khalil, Head of the Administrative Services Division, the college initiated the planting of new saplings today, Sunday, October 25, 2026, as part of the second phase of its campus greening project.

The planting work covered the areas behind the buildings of the Departments of Marketing Management, Finance and Banking, and Economics, extending to the garden connecting these departments with the Deanship building. This marks the first afforestation project carried out in these specific locations since the founding of the college, following the completion of ground preparation, cleaning, and the installation of a drip irrigation network.

In his statement to the Media and Government Communication Division, the Dean reaffirmed the college’s ongoing commitment to its environmental vision, stating: “We have pledged to make the college grounds and the surrounding areas of its buildings greener and more beautiful.” This initiative aligns directly with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 15 (Life on Land).
