(Cuneiform Text Covers) In a seminar

(Cuneiform Text Covers) In a seminar, the Department of Civilization in the College of Archaeology held a seminar entitled: (Cuneiform Text Covers) on Monday, April 28, 2025, in the Computer Lab Hall. The seminar was a joint research study between Assistant Professor Dr. Yasser Jaber Khalil and Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Maysar Fadel. The research paper was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Maysar Fadel. The study addressed the most prominent unique techniques invented by Mesopotamian scribes: clay covers that cover cuneiform texts. These covers were considered at the time one of the most important means of preventing forgery, in addition to their use in preserving texts. The research addressed the early beginnings of the use of covers and their prevalence throughout the ages, as well as listing their names in dictionaries and cuneiform texts. Some practical experiments conducted by scientists on how to prepare and manufacture covers were also presented, supported by images. The research also highlighted the most important functions performed by covers, explaining their contents and the information recorded on them. The research concluded with the most important findings.
