Visit of President of University of Mosul and the Deputy Governor of Nineveh to College of Archaeology to Enhance Cooperation in Tourism Development in Nineveh

In a practical step to support the tourism sector, Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, and Mr. Khalid Abdul Karim Al-Obaidi, Deputy Governor of Nineveh, visited the College of Archaeology. They were received by Professor Dr. Yasmin Abdul Karim Mohammed Ali, Dean of the College, along with the Vice Deans for Scientific and Administrative Affairs and the Heads of Academic Departments. The visit focused on mechanisms for joint coordination between the Governorate and the College. An agreement was reached for the University to contribute to developing the visual identity of the historic “Al-Sha’areen” market by designing informational and directional signs and providing clothing and advertising designs that highlight the city’s rich history. The Deputy Governor expressed his appreciation for this initiative, which aims to promote tourism, emphasizing that the integration of the College of Archaeology’s academic expertise with the Governorate’s efforts will directly contribute to the revitalization of Mosul’s historical landmarks.
