Master’s Thesis at the College of Basic Education on: “Revolts and Rebellions of the Viceroys of the Sultanate in Egypt and Bilad al-Sham during the Mamluk Era (648–923 AH / 1250–1517 AD)”

The College of Basic Education at the University of Mosul discussed a Master’s thesis entitled:
“Revolts and Rebellions of the Viceroys of the Sultanate in Egypt and Bilad al-Sham during the Mamluk Era (648–923 AH / 1250–1517 AD)”
The thesis was discussed on Sunday, June 7, 2026, in Umm Al-Rabi’ain Hall at the college.
The thesis, submitted by Idris Mahmoud Ahmed, aimed to examine in detail the revolts and rebellions carried out by the viceroys of the Sultanate during the Mamluk period. It analyzed the factors that led to these uprisings, clarified their political, economic, and social consequences, and provided a comprehensive account of the role played by the viceroys in the history of the Mamluk State.
The significance of the study lies in presenting a clear picture of the revolts and rebellions undertaken by the viceroys in Egypt and Bilad al-Sham during the Mamluk era, as well as identifying the causes behind these movements and their political, economic, social, and educational impacts.
