The College of Basic Education at the University of Mosul discussed a master’s thesis entitled “Developing a Tactical Thinking Scale and Its Contribution to Performance Effectiveness among Iraqi University Handball Team Players” on Sunday, June 28, 2026, in Al-Hadbaa Hall at the college.
The thesis, submitted by Mr. Alaa Zuhair Saeed Al-Shukraji from the Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, aimed to develop a tactical thinking scale for players of Iraqi university handball teams and to identify the extent to which tactical thinking contributes to their performance effectiveness.
The study addressed various tactical thinking situations and examined their contribution to the performance effectiveness of Iraqi university handball team players.
The study reached several findings, the most significant of which was the development of an offensive tactical thinking scale consisting of 24 tactical situations for Iraqi university handball team players.
The examination committee was chaired by Professor Dr. Ahmed Muayyad Hussein, with Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Hisham Ahmed, Assistant Professor Dr. Bassam Ali Mohammed, and Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Ali Mohammed Baqir serving as members, the latter also acting as the thesis supervisor.
