Master’s Thesis at the College of Basic Education on “Psychological Capital and Its Relationship to Cognitive Style (Field Dependence–Independence) among University of Mosul Students: A Field Study for Sustainable Development”

The College of Basic Education at the University of Mosul discussed a master’s thesis entitled “Psychological Capital and Its Relationship to Cognitive Style (Field Dependence–Independence) among University of Mosul Students: A Field Study for Sustainable Development.” The discussion was held on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at Al-Hadbaa Hall at the College of Basic Education.

The thesis, submitted by Haneen Khalid Mohammed Saeed Ismail from the Department of Kindergarten, specializing in Educational Psychology, aimed to identify the level of psychological capital and cognitive style (field dependence–independence) among University of Mosul students, examine differences according to gender, specialization, and academic year, and investigate the nature of the relationship between the two variables.

The study reached several findings, most notably that University of Mosul students demonstrated an above-average level of psychological capital and an average level of cognitive style (field dependence–independence). The study also found a statistically significant relationship between the two variables, with differences in some variables in favor of males and students in scientific specializations.
