Master’s Thesis at the College of Basic Education on “Toxic Positivity and Its Relationship to Sustainable Personality Patterns among University of Mosul Students”

The College of Basic Education at the University of Mosul discussed a master’s thesis entitled “Toxic Positivity and Its Relationship to Sustainable Personality Patterns among University of Mosul Students.” The discussion was held on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Al-Hadbaa Hall at the College of Basic Education.

The thesis, submitted by Raghad Muwaffaq Abdul Karim Mustafa from the Department of Kindergarten, specializing in Educational Psychology, aimed to identify the level of toxic positivity among University of Mosul students and examine the significance of differences according to gender (male–female), specialization (scientific–humanities), and academic year (second–fourth).

The study also aimed to identify personality patterns among University of Mosul students, examine the significance of differences according to gender, specialization, and academic year, and determine the nature of the relationship between toxic positivity and personality patterns among University of Mosul students.

The study reached several findings, most notably emphasizing the importance of developing guidance and awareness programs for university students to clarify the concept of toxic positivity and its psychological and social effects, while promoting a balance between positive thinking and the realistic expression of emotions.

The study also recommended paying particular attention to groups that demonstrated lower levels in certain variables through guidance programs that take into account differences in gender, specialization, and academic year. It further emphasized strengthening positive personality patterns, particularly the Loyalist personality pattern, through student activities that foster responsibility, commitment, and cooperation among students.
