Master’s Thesis at the College of Basic Education on “Levels of Narrative Language in Fatah Abdul-Salam’s Novel The Second Flood”
A Master’s thesis entitled “Levels of Narrative Language in Fatah Abdul-Salam’s Novel The Second Flood” was defended at the Department of Arabic Language, College of Basic Education, University of Mosul. The thesis was submitted by the student Ahmed Mohammed Hussein Al-Zubaidi on Monday, August 10, 2026, in the Umm Al-Rabiain Hall at the College of Basic Education.
The thesis examined and analyzed the levels of narrative language and their artistic formations in the novel The Second Flood. It addressed the referential level of language, including symbolism, irony, and intertextuality, in addition to the expressive and functional levels and their manifestations. The study sought to demonstrate how the novelist employs language to construct his narrative worlds through a precise and artistic style.
