The College of Basic Education at the University of Mosul discussed a master’s thesis in modern history titled “Mosul’s Economic Nationalism during the Royal Era: Mustafa Al-Sabonji, Muhammad Najib Al-Jadir, and Hashim Al-Hajj Yunus.” The discussion took place on Monday, August 26, 2026, in the college’s “Umm Al-Rabee’ain” Hall  ,The thesis presented by student Israa Hazim Hassoun (Department of History, specializing in Modern History) offers a comprehensive study of economic patriotism in Mosul during the Royal Era, focusing on the figures of Mustafa al-Sabunji, Muhammad Najib al-Jadir, and Hashim al-Hajj Yunus. The study highlights the role played by these prominent economic figures from Mosul in building both the national and local economies; Mosul was a major commercial and industrial hub, and these individuals distinguished themselves by combining economic enterprise with national service. The research aims to outline their efforts to revitalize commercial and industrial activity and their contributions to establishing companies, factories, and economic projects, alongside their social, industrial, and patriotic roles ,The discussion committee was chaired by Prof. Dr. Ali Hamza Abbas, with the membership of Asst. Prof. Dr. Khalida Ibrahim Khalil and Lecturer Dr. Akram Salem Ayoub, and under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Naktal Abdul-Hadi Abdul-Karim.
