Master’s Thesis Defense at the Faculty of Education: “The Horizon of Expectations in the Novels of Khalil Sweileh”
A master’s thesis titled “The Horizon of Expectation in the Novels of Khalil Sweileh,” submitted by student Muthanna Abd Ahmed Al-Mansour, was defended on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at the Al-Hadbaa Hall in the College of Basic Education, University of Mosul (Department of Arabic Language).
The thesis explored the aesthetics of the “horizon of expectation” in Khalil Sweileh’s novels and examined its role in shaping the reception process and the generation of meaning. This was achieved by tracing instances of alignment and subversion across various narrative elements, such as time, place, character, and event.
