“A faculty member from the Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at our college served as a member of a master’s thesis discussion committee at the College of Education for Girls / University of Mosul.”

Assistant Professor Dr. Omar Alaa Al-Din Ahmed participated as a member of the master’s thesis discussion committee for the thesis titled “The Effect of Training According to Physiological Training Zones on Regulating the HPA Axis and the 50-Meter Freestyle Swimming Performance for Juniors,” submitted by the student Ikhlas Mohammed Malo, on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at the Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, College of Education for Girls, University of Mosul.
The study aimed to identify the effect of using special exercises according to physiological training zones on regulating the HPA axis and the 50-meter freestyle swimming performance for juniors.
The results showed that the training curriculum based on physiological training zones contributed to improving the hormonal and physical adaptation of swimmers by enhancing the regulation of the HPA axis and its hormonal components (DHEA-S, ACTH, and Cortisol), as well as improving the performance level in the 50-meter freestyle swimming event. This confirms the importance of utilizing hormonal indicators in monitoring responses to training loads and evaluating the effectiveness of training programs.
