A PhD dissertation at the College of Basic Education on: “Professional Stress and Decision-Making According to VAR Technology among Football Referees in the Iraq Stars League”

The College of Basic Education discussed a PhD dissertation entitled:
“Professional Stress and Decision-Making According to VAR Technology among Football Referees in the Iraq Stars League”
This took place on Thursday, May 14, 2026, in the “Umm Al-Rabeeain” Hall at the college.
The dissertation, submitted by the student Mohammed Abdul Moneim Suleiman Saleh from the Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, aimed to:
- Identify the level of professional stress and the level of decision-making among football referees in the Iraq Stars League under the use of Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology.
- Examine the nature of the correlation between these two variables.
- Identify the role of professional stress in decision-making according to the use of VAR technology among football referees in the Iraq Stars League.
The study was based on the hypothesis that:
“There is no statistically significant effect of professional stress on decision-making according to the use of Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology among football referees in the Iraq Stars League.”
