Master’s Thesis at the College of Basic Education on “The Effect of an Innovative Device on Developing Certain Biokinematic Variables and Performance Level in Jump Shots in Basketball”
The College of Basic Education at the University of Mosul discussed a master’s thesis entitled “The Effect of an Innovative Device on Developing Certain Biokinematic Variables and Performance Level in Jump Shots in Basketball.” The discussion was held on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Umm Al-Rabi‘ain Hall at the College.
The thesis, submitted by Mahand Abdul Karim Saber Al-Araji from the Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, aimed to design a device for measuring and developing response speed and shooting accuracy in basketball jump shots, as well as to develop a test for measuring the accuracy and speed of jump shots among second-year students in the Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences. It also sought to identify differences in the values of certain biokinematic variables and the performance level of basketball jump shots.
The study reached several findings, most notably that the results demonstrated a clear statistically significant improvement in the biokinematic variables among the experimental group between the pre- and post-tests. The results also showed a clear significant improvement in performance level among the experimental group between the pre- and post-tests.
The discussion committee was chaired by Prof. Dr. Mohammed Saleh Khalil, with the membership of:
- Prof. Dr. Nash’at Bashir Ibrahim
- Lecturer Dr. Jassam Mohammed Saleh
- Prof. Dr. Thaer Ghanem Hamdoun – Member and Supervisor
