Master’s Thesis at the College of Basic Education on “The Social and Scholarly Role of the Prophet’s Wives during the Prophetic Era and the Era of the Rightly Guided Caliphs and Its Impact on Sustainable Development”
The College of Basic Education at the University of Mosul discussed a Master’s thesis entitled “The Social and Scholarly Role of the Prophet’s Wives during the Prophetic Era and the Era of the Rightly Guided Caliphs and Its Impact on Sustainable Development” on Sunday, August 9, 2026, in the hall of the College of Political Science.
The thesis, submitted by the student Mustafa Adel Ahmed Younis, aimed to highlight the comprehensive role of women in the early Islamic period through the exemplary model represented by the Mothers of the Believers, emphasizing their pioneering scholarly contributions to the narration of Hadith and the dissemination of religious legal opinions, as well as their social and political roles, educational care, and social guidance. It also examined how this knowledge was transmitted and contributed to shaping the identity of Muslim society during the Prophetic era and the subsequent period of the Rightly Guided Caliphs.
The significance of the study lies in its importance to Islamic history, as the lives of the Prophet’s wives are not viewed merely as individual historical narratives, but rather as an integral part of the foundational civilizational project of the Muslim nation.
