Master’s Thesis Defense at the College of Basic Education on “Reference in the Short Stories of Mahmoud Jandari”

A Master’s thesis entitled “Reference in the Short Stories of Mahmoud Jandari” was discussed in the Department of Arabic Language at the College of Basic Education, University of Mosul. The thesis was submitted by the student Laith Salim Elias Al-Abbasi on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at the Al-Hadbaa Hall in the college.
The thesis aimed to uncover narrative reference and the modalities and patterns of its evocation across historical-eventful, sacred-religious, and cultural-heritage levels. Additionally, it examined its representations within the spatial, temporal, and visionary narrative space, while identifying the operational mechanisms of narrative and the employment of symbolism, irony, and the marvelous in its functioning.
The defense committee consisted of the following members:

The thesis was approved with a passing grade.
