A Virtual Symposium of the Department of Microbiology Deals with the Topic of Coronavirus in Terms of Its Composition, Immune Behaviour, Methods of Diagnosis and Prevention

The annual scientific symposium of the Department of Microbiology dealt with Corona virus in terms of its composition, immune behaviour, methods of diagnosis, some accompanying diseases, and the use of the vaccine to prevent it on Tuesday 20th April 2021.

The symposium aimed to expand scientific knowledge of the aforementioned virus in order to find the most effective way to prevent it and protect society from its dangers. The symposium consisted of two scientific sessions. The first of which was chaired by the Lecturer Dr Ahmed A. Al-Harbi, while the second was headed by the Head of the Department, the Lecturer Dr Asma Z. Sheitawi with six lectures per session. After the end of each session, there was a chance to ask questions, discussions and interpositions by the attendees.

The symposium was held virtually under the auspices of the University President Prof Dr Qusay K. Al-Ahmadi, and under the supervision and presence of the Dean of the College, Prof Dr Basil M. Nathir Saeed, and some members of the College Board as well as dozens of teaching staff from the Colleges of Medicine of the Universities of Mosul and Nineveh.
