Awareness Campaign at the College of Medicine on Domestic Violence Against Pregnant Women
In implementation of the Third National Plan for Women, Peace, and Security/Protection and Prevention Pillar, the Women’s Affairs Committee at the College of Medicine, in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Unit at the University Presidency, distributed brochures on “Domestic Violence Against Women During Pregnancy” to college members on Sunday, May 18, 2025.
Objectives:
1. Raise community awareness of the seriousness of domestic violence and its negative effects on pregnant women and their fetuses.
2. Educate pregnant women and their families about the physical and psychological harm caused by violence during pregnancy.
3. Encourage victims to seek help, break the silence, and seek support from relevant authorities.
4. Empower women to recognize early signs of violence to prevent the situation from escalating.
5. Contribute to prevention and reduction of violence rates and support national and international efforts to prevent domestic violence, especially during sensitive periods such as pregnancy.
Through this campaign, the College of Medicine emphasizes the importance of protecting pregnant women from domestic violence and providing them with the necessary support.
