A Workshop in the College of Medicine on the Electronic Correction System

The College of Medicine held an introductory workshop to use the Optical Mark Recognition System (known as OMR) on Thursday, 5 December2019 in the presence of Vice- Dean of the College of Medicine Prof Dr Hazim Kh. al-Allaf, and Vice- Dean for Scientific Affairs Assist. Prof Dr Humam Gh. I. Zubeer. The workshop was prepared and presented by the Chief Computer Maintenance Unit Engineer Hussein N. Saleh. In the workshop, the features of the Verificare software application were presented and through which the questionnaire is designed (with two known patterns: MCQ and True & False). After the students ’answers and the completion of the exam, the answers sheet will be read through a special scanner. The answers are analysed and the report is printed including the name and the final score (as well as other information) in just a few minutes. During the workshop a simulation test was conducted in which all attendees participated. Indeed, the results were obtained after the test in just one minute. There were an extensive discussions about the performance of the program that serves the entire exam process. The presentation of this software application met a great satisfaction from both the deanship and the teaching staff of the college alike wishing to provide its technical supplies as quickly as possible to apply it in the current academic year 2019-2020. Among the attendees was a group of academic teaching staff including the President Examination committee for the academic year 2019-2020 teaching, the Department of Paediatric assist Prof Dr Mazin M. F. Al-Sarraf, the Electronic Repair Official in the same committee assist Lect. Firas M. Saeed from the Department of Family and Community Medicine and some of the officials and scientific and administrative units, and the Chairman of the Examination Committee of the College of Dentistry.
