College of Medicine

The Iraqi Medical Association, Nineveh Branch, held its first annual symposium for paediatric urology and nephrology on Sunday 16th January 2022.

The symposium consisted of two scientific sessions. In each of which three lectures were delivered and a number of faculty teaching staff participated in the College of Medicine. In the first session, the Lecturer Dr Bassam Kh. Al-Hajjar, from the Department of Surgery, presented his lecture entitled “Current Management of Antenatal Hydronephrosis”. In the second session chaired by Assistant Prof Dr Abdel Salam Th. Al-Masry, from the Department of Surgery, the Lecturer Dr Gissar S. Hassan, from the Department of Paediatrics, presented his lecture entitled “Primary Hyperoxalurla (Case Presentation)” Then the Lecturer Dr Obay A. Idan, from the Department of Surgery, delivered his lecture entitled “Updates in the Management of Posterior Urethral Valve”. The lectures included questions, discussions and interpositions by the attendees. On the side-lines of the business, Acino Pharmaceutical Company (the sponsor) gave a presentation about the self.

The symposium was attended by the President of Nineveh University, Prof Dr Osama I. Al-Mashhadani, the Nineveh Physicians Syndicate, the consultant Dr Muhammad S. Al-Houry, and a number of heads, rapporteurs and teaching staff of some departments of the college and some specialized doctors from Nineveh Health Department.
