Annual Scientific Symposium
Under the auspices of Prof Dr Qusai K. Al-Ahmadi, President of the University of Mosul and under the supervision of Prof Dr Basil Mohammednathir Saeed, Dean of the College of Medicine, the Department of Pediatrics in the college held today, Sunday, February 26, 2023, its scientific symposium tagged “New in Pediatrics” in the scientific and literary forum hall at the University of Mosul, which was attended by Prof Dr Mounir S. Taha, Vice- President of the University for Scientific Affairs, as well as Dr Muhammad S. Al-Houri, President of the Nineveh Physicians Syndicate, Dean of the College, the department`s teaching staff and specialist doctors. The opening ceremony of the symposium started with a reading from the Holy Quran, then the speech of the Head of the Depatment of Pediatrics , Assistant Prof Dr Mazen M. Fawzi Al-Sarraf, after that Scientific symposium sessions began.The symposium aims to shed light on all that is new in the world of pediatrics and modern techniques used in the treatment of some diseases that affect children.The symposium lectures, in its first scientific session, dealt with topics on “paracetamol in the treatment of patent ductus arteriosus”, a marginal study on “risk factors for the first simple febrile seizure in Mosul children, and on virtual reality and autism”In its second scientific session, the symposium dealt with “next-generation sequencing in pediatrics, the emerging trend in type 1 diabetes technology, and zinc supplementation in reducing relapses in children with steroid-sensitive nephrotic syndrome”.
