A master’s thesis was discussed in the College of Medicine, University of Mosul. The discussion was for the thesis of the student Ali Mazen Mohammed Ali titled “Effects of Milk Thistle Extract on Some Biochemical Variables in Type 2 Diabetes Patients: A Randomized Clinical Trial” on Sunday, July 20, 2025.
The thesis aimed to find out the effect of milk thistle on some parameters like glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c), lipid profile, and kidney function tests. This thesis contributes to achieving Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being), producing new knowledge in line with Goal 4 (Quality Education), and innovation in treatment for Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure).

The discussion was attended by the Dean of the College, Asst. Prof. Dr. Humam Ghanim Ibraahim, the vice Dean for Scientific Affairs, Lecturer Dr. Ahmad Abdullah Ahmad, the vice Dean for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Lecturer Dr. Karam Turath Toufiq, the attendance of Prof. Dr. Huyam Adel Al-Tai, Dean of the College of Science, and some members of the College Council and a number of lecturers, as well as a group of postgraduate students.
After the discussion, the committee’s decision was read, which included accepting the thesis with necessary modifications
