Nineveh Health Department held the second annual Breast Cancer Symposium on Thursday 24 October 2019 at the Engineers Syndicate Hall. After the opening speeches and some other events related to the theme of the symposium, the scientific lectures started through two scientific sessions. On the part of the College of Medicine, University of Mosul, Lect. Dr Alia A. Najm from the Department of Medicine delivered a lecture entitle “modern methods used to treat breast cancer.” An awareness video about the disease was also shown on the sidelines of the symposium. After the lectures, there were extensive discussions by the attendees (Nineveh Health Department doctors and a number of invitees), followed by the recommendations of the seminar. The College of Medicine has previously launched an awareness campaign on the same subject for the period from 22 to 24 October 2019, in line with the month of October (the global awareness month of this disease).
