Asst. Prof. Dr. Afraa Mohammad Al-Ameen, a lecturer at the College of Medicine, University of Mosul, participated in the annual conference titled *”Sports: The Youth Shield Against Addiction”* organized by the University Psychological Counseling Division in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences.
She presented a lecture titled *”The Harmful Effects of Drug Use on Immediate and Chronic Body Functions”* in the first session of the conference on Sunday, October 16, 2025. The conference was attended by a distinguished group of scientific and academic personalities.
The first day of the conference also featured an awareness exhibition on the dangers of drugs and ways to prevent them, aiming to raise awareness among students and the university community and promote a drug-free environment.
This participation was in collaboration with the Studies and Planning Department-Sustainable Development Unit and in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being), Goal 4 (Quality Education), and Goal 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions).
