The College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine at the University of Mosul holds on to  a Joint Scientific Symposium on Virus Corona

Under the patronage and presence of the President of University of Mosul , Prof Dr Qusay K. al-Ahmadi, in the presence of the President of the University of Nineveh, Prof Dr Muzahim Q. al-Khayyat, some members of the council of the two universities, and the Director General of Nineveh Health. The College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine held on to a joint scientific symposium, entitled “The accelerating developments of infection with corona virus” on Sunday, 2 February 2020. The symposium, was opening by the Official of Information and Public Relations Division, Chief Engineer Hasan Y. Abdullah; started with some verses from the Holy Qura`n, followed by Assistant Prof Dr Abdulmalik S. Mohammad, then an opening speech by the Vice- President for Scientific Affairs, Prof Dr Munir S. Taha. After that, two introductory lectures were given. The first lecture for college members of the College of Veterinary Medicine, Prof Dr Muzahim Y. al-Attar,entitled “The new corona virus causes it to spread and ways to control it.” The second lecture for assistant professor Dr. Rami Muhammad Adel Al-Hayali from the College of Medicine, entitled “Symptoms of clinical disease and methods Prevent it” After a short break, the scientific session was commenced by the Vice- Dean for Scientific Affairs from the College of Medicine, assistant Prof Dr Humam Gh. Ibrahim Zubeer, and a teaching staff from of the College of Veterinary, assistant Prof Dr Fanar A. Ishaq. The session included two lectures. The first lecture for the College of Medicine, the lecturer Dr Ahmed M. Ahmed Haiyawi, entitled “Corona virus that causes human infection.” The second lecture was for one of teaching staff of the College of Veterinary Medicine, the lectyrer Dr Muhammad O. Abdul Majeed, entitled “Epidemic of corona virus in animals.” After that, it was given a chance to attendees for discussions, then the results and recommendations of the seminar were read. Among the attendees were the Hospital Directors and a group of teaching staff from Mosul and Nineveh universities.
