The College of Medicine Participates in the Medical Symposium on the Diseases of Digestive System and Liver

Under the patronage of the Director General of the Nineveh Health Department, Dr Falah Hasan Al-Taee, and in the presence of the Director of the Ibn Sina Teaching Hospital, Dr Fayez I. Al-Hamdani, and the Head of the Department of Medicine, Prof Dr Khalid N. Al-Kheroo, the medical scientific symposium was held in the aforementioned hospital entitled “The latest developments in diseases of the digestive system And liver ” on Tuesday 15th December 2020. The symposium consisted of two scientific sessions. The first of which was chaired over by the consultant doctor, Dr Rafea’ H. Al-Qazzaz, in which two lectures were delivered. The first of which was by a professor from the Department of Medicine, Assistant Prof Dr Ismail D. Saeed entitled “Update in GIT diseases” while the lecturer Dr Abdullah Z. Al-Yuzbaki, from the same department, gave his lecture entitled “Nutrition in GIT disorders.” After a short break, the second session, chaired by Assistant Prof Dr Ismail D. Saeed, started, in which two other lectures were delivered. The lectures were interspersed with scientific discussions and interventions by the attendees who are elite of the college’s teaching staff or a group of specialist doctors of the Nineveh Health Department. The holding of this symposium is part of the requirements of the annual plan of the Continuing Medical Education Centre.
