The College of Medicine Presents (Electronically) in a Specialized Scientific Symposium on the Corona pandemic

The Medical College of Xi’an at University of Jiaotong of China held a medical seminar on the Corona pandemic entitled “Online exchange on COVID-19 between China and the countries of the sea belt and the Silk way”, on Friday, 10th April 2020. The symposium was through Zoom program and lasted one-and-a-half-hour included lectures on the methods of prevention, diagnosis, and treatment followed in China during the pandemic. The lectures were given by some medical specialists who participated in the diagnosis and treatment of the disease (from the Chinese city of Wuhan itself). Many specialists were existed in the meeting from different countries, such as Sudan, Iran, Malaysia, Malawi, Pakistan and others. Iraq was attended this meeting through participating five of the teaching staff ( the highest number allowed by the organizer), and they are each of the Dean, Prof Dr Basil M. Natheer Saeed, and the Vice- Dean for Scientific Affairs, assistant Prof Dr Humam Gh. Ibrahim Zubeer, and the Official of Scientific Affairs , lecturer Dr Rana M. Raoof (the coordinator with the Chinese side), Prof Dr Rami M. Adel al-Hayali (Specialist in Internal Medicine and Psychiatric Tracts), and lecturer Dr Dina A. al-Qazzaz (Specialist Anaesthesiologist& Intensive care) from the Dept. of Surgery. There were extensive discussions about many of the researches proposed to try drugs, especially in America and China, but its effectiveness has not been confirmed up to date. Treatments that are currently under trial have also been reviewed. The symposium ended with necessity to adhere to the recommendations of the World Health Organization, such as avoiding crowded places and adherence to social divergence, as it is the best way to prevent disease.
