The Department of Pediatrics Holds an Educational Student Symposium on Cerebral Palsy and Ways of Preventing it

The student awareness seminar held by the Department of Pediatrics discussed many aspects of cerebral palsy on Wednesday, 10th February 2021. The symposium focused on the clinical symptoms of the aforementioned disease and how to early diagnosis of it in terms of its phylogeny, diagnosis and symptoms. Then focused on its impact on the patient, family and society in general and turning to treatment and prevention methods. The symposium aimed to raise awareness in this context especially as this disease is on the increase in our society. The symposium concluded that early diagnosis is the basis on which giving the patient better chances for an easier life since the disease is difficult and tiring from both a physical and psychological point of view. The symposium was held under the auspices of the faculty deanship and under the supervision of the Head of the Department, Assistant Prof Dr Riyad A. Al-Obaidi who headed its work and in the presence of the rapporteur and a number of college teaching staff from different departments as well as the sixth stage students who took turns presenting their lectures.
