College of Medicine

The President of University of Mosul and the Dean of the College of Medicine attended the annual scientific symposium that was held by the Dept. of Surgery on Monday, 24 Feb. 2020. The Official of Information Division, chief of Engs. Hasan Y. Abdullah, moderated the symposium. Some of Qur`anic verses were recited by the assist. Lecturer, Firas M. Saeed followed by the speech of the Head of the Department of Surgery, Prof Dr Samir I. al-Saffar (Chairman of the Preparatory Committee). The assist. Prof Dr Zaid S. Khader, also gave a historical overview of the department. Then, the dean gave the opening lecture entitled “Surgical cases in the specialty of ear, nose and throat.” After a short break, the first scientific session began, headed by Prof Dr Mahmoud A. Jumaili, and the Assist. Prof Dr Yakdan Z. al-Saleem, in which four lectures were given. While the second scientific session was chaired by Prof Dr Samir I. al-Saffar, and the rapporteur, assist. Prof Dr, Karam K. Younis, in which three lectures were given. At the end of each session, there was a room for questions and discussions by the attendees. The symposium was also attended by the Vice- Dean for Scientific Affairs and Vice- Dean for Administrative Affairs, assistant Prof Dr Humam Gh. Ibrahim Zubeer, assistant Prof Dr Hazim Kh. al-Allaf, and most of the heads, rapporteurs, and professors of the scientific departments in both Colleges of Medicine of Mosul and Nineveh Universities.
