The Iraqi Council for General Surgery (Mosul Training Centre) Holds its Weekly Meeting for its Students

In the presence of the Dean of the College of Medicine, Prof Dr Basil M. Nathir Saeed, and the Head of the Department of Surgery, Prof Dr Samir I. Al-Saffar, the Iraqi Board of General Surgery (Mosul Training Center) held its weekly meeting for its students on Monday 25th January 2021. At the beginning, the director of the centre (from the Department of Surgery) Prof Dr Nashwan Q. Mahjoub at the opening of the meeting welcoming the attendees and briefly talking about these meetings and the importance of holding such meetings and maintaining them for the student and the teaching staff together. After that, the scientific program of the meeting began which included presenting medical cases and scientific lectures by the board students under the supervision of professors. After the presentation, the audience was allowed to provide opinions, questions and interventions. In this regard, it is mentioned that Mosul Training Centre was reopened in 2018, and the first group was graduated after the liberation in 2020 with a success rate of 100%. Currently, it has fifteen students from various surgical specialties and six supervisors from the faculties of medicine at universities of Mosul and Nineveh. Holding of these scientific meetings on a weekly is part of the sustainable activities carried out by the said centre.
