The Second Surgical Symposium of the Department of Surgery for the Academic Year 2020-2021 Discusses Two Rare Medical Cases

The second symposium of the Department of Surgery for the academic year 2020-2021 discussed two rare medical cases on Tuesday, 22nd June 2021. Prof Dr Ali A. Muhammad presented the first case ” a Submandibular Pleomorphic Adenoma” , while the Lecturer Dr Ali H. Mohamed presented “Acute Abdomen/ Uterain Torsion.”

The symposium aimed to educate students of the fifth and sixth grades of the importance of the above two cases along with how to diagnose and treat them.

The symposium was chaired by Assistant Prof Dr Abd al-Salam Th. al-Masry, and by the rapporteur of the department, Lecturer Dr Muhannad A. al-Nuaimi. It was attended by the Scientific Vice-Dean, Assistant Prof Dr Humam Gh. Ibrahim, and the Head of the Department, Prof Dr Samir I. Al-Saffar. It was also attended by all the department’s teaching staff, students of the Iraqi and Arab boards (specializing in surgery) as well as students of the two mentioned stages.
