Two Professors from the Department of Surgery Attend an International Conference for ENT Surgery in Dubai

The Ministry of Health and Community Protection in Dubai chaired the eleventh conference of the Arab Association of Otolaryngology, Audiology and Communication Disorders and the 12th Emirates Conference for Otolaryngology, Otolaryngology, Swallowing and Communication Disorders, for the period 12th -14th January 2022. The conference was attended by more than 1,500 researchers and academics. Specialists in otorhinolaryngology, allergy, head and neck surgery, pediatric ENT, sleep breathing, face and nose surgery, communication and swallowing worldwide. On the part of the College of Medicine, it was attended by two teaching staff from the Department of Surgery, namely, Prof Dr Ali A. Muhammad, and Assistant Prof Dr Haitham A. Al-Nouri. The conference was considered the largest of its kind in the region as it included a large number of doctors specializing in the mentioned specialties.

The conference discussed the problems of the salivary glands, the use of endoscopes in surgeries of the nose, sinuses, skull base surgeries, speech disorders and swallowing difficulties. He also discussed modern methods of cosmetic and functional nose operations in addition to sleep apnea and snoring, the latest diagnostic and therapeutic methods in this field, and other items.

It aimed to provide a platform for exchanging experiences between doctors and surgeons to be informed of the latest developments in medicine in the world and to support research through the exchange of knowledge and keeping abreast of the latest technologies.
