Visit of a ministerial committee to the College of Medicine to establish a Master’s program in the Department of Medical Physiology
The College of Medicine, on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, received the ministerial committee tasked with establishing a Master’s program in the Department of Medical Physiology titled “Physiology of Hearing and Balance”. The Vice Dean for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Ahmad Abdullah Ahmad, welcomed the committee in the presence of the Head of the Department of Medical Physiology, members of the study oversight committee, and the Head of the Postgraduate Studies Division in the college.
During their visit, the committee reviewed the college’s and department’s readiness to establish the program and the availability of requirements including specialized faculty, equipment, classrooms, and textbooks.
This visit is part of ongoing efforts to develop and improve academic programs at the university and enhance scientific research in various medical fields, contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
– *Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being*: Through preparing specialized medical personnel contributing to improving the quality of health services and enhancing research capabilities in the medical field, helping to find new solutions to health problems, supporting prevention, early diagnosis, and effective treatment of diseases.
– *Goal 4: Quality Education*: By providing advanced higher education opportunities for doctors and medical students.
– *Goal 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure*: By promoting research and innovation in the medical field through Master’s theses and applied studies, and supporting the research infrastructure in the College of Medicine and university hospitals.
– *Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals*: By strengthening partnerships with research and medical institutions and cooperation between universities and health centers to develop medical research and education.
The Master’s program in Physiology of Hearing and Balance will be a valuable addition to the academic programs in the College of Medicine and will contribute to developing knowledge and skills in this medical field.
