Master’s Thesis Defense at the College of Nursing, University of Mosul on “Perceived Barriers and Benefits of Spinal Anesthesia Among Pregnant Women in Teaching Maternity Hospitals”

 

In the presence of Professor Dr. Nashaat Mubarak Sliwa, President of Al-Hamdaniya University, Assistant Professor Dr.Tahsein Muhsin Hussein, Dean of the College of Nursing at the University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Radwan Hussein Ibrahim, Dean of the College of Nursing at the University of Nineveh, and Lecturer Dr. Saad Hussein Murad, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Students, and Postgraduate Studies at the College of Nursing/University of Mosul, as well as a group of faculty members and postgraduate students, a master’s thesis defense was held on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at the discussion hall of the College of Nursing, University of Mosul.

 

The thesis, presented by Ghadraa Kamal Noah, was entitled: “Perceived Barriers and Benefits of Spinal Anesthesia Among Pregnant Women in Teaching Maternity Hospitals.” The study explored various aspects of women’s experiences with spinal anesthesia during childbirth, focusing on the challenges they face and the benefits they perceive from this type of anesthesia.

 

The examination committee was chaired by Professor Dr. Salwa Hazem Gailan, and included the following members:

• Assistant Professor Dr. Suhaila Mohammed Ali – College of Nursing, University of Kirkuk

• Lecturer Dr. Asmaa Abdulrazzaq Mohammed – College of Medicine, University of Mosul

• Assistant Professor Yamama Zuhair Abdulkarim Ibrahim – College of Nursing, University of Mosul (Member and Supervisor)

 

The committee commended the student’s efforts and the significance of the thesis topic, emphasizing its direct relevance to improving healthcare services for pregnant women. The committee recommended awarding the student a Master’s degree in Nursing.
