College of Pharmacy Organizes Scientific Visit to the Herbarium to Enhance Practical Learning and Support SDGs

Under the supervision of the Dean, Professor Dr. Yasser Fakhry Mustafa, and with the follow-up of Assistant Professor Dr. Zaid Mowafaq Younis, Head of the Pharmacognosy and Medicinal Plants Department, a scientific field visit to the College’s Herbarium was organized on Monday, December 1, 2025. This activity was conducted in collaboration with the Sustainable Development Unit at the University of Mosul.
During the visit, students examined a wide variety of medicinal plants, learning about their cultivation conditions, growth patterns, classifications, and therapeutic benefits. Faculty members provided detailed explanations of active botanical parts and their specific roles in pharmaceutical applications. The visit significantly bolstered the practical and interactive aspects of the Pharmacognosy curriculum, enriching students’ hands-on expertise.
