The Role of Assessment Processes in Medical Academic Programs
Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Yasser Fakhry Mustafa, Dean of the College of Pharmacy, and as part of the college’s ongoing efforts to fulfill Programmatic Accreditation requirements and Quality Assurance standards, the Quality Assurance Division organized a specialized workshop titled “The Role of Assessment Processes in Medical Academic Programs” on Wednesday, October 8, 2025.
The workshop was presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Rana Mumtaz Raouf, Head of the Medical Education Unit and Chair of the Measurement and Evaluation Committee at the College of Medicine, University of Mosul.
Key Discussion Points:
* Formative and Summative Assessment: A comprehensive review of modern evaluation concepts.
* Quality Standards: Defining the essential criteria and conditions required to ensure the integrity of measurement and evaluation processes.
* Examination Development: Discussing methods to advance both theoretical and practical examinations in alignment with academic accreditation requirements and medical education quality standards.
At the conclusion of the workshop, the Dean commended the Quality Assurance Division for their organizational efforts and praised the high-level scientific content provided, noting its significant role in enhancing the overall quality of academic education.
