College of Pharmacy Implements Blended Learning System to Advance Clinical Skills

Under the supervision of the Dean, Professor Dr. Yasser Fakhry Mustafa, and the rigorous follow-up of Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Adool, Head of the Clinical Pharmacy Department, fifth-year students have commenced their practical training within the “Hospital Training” course. The training is being conducted across Mosul’s major teaching hospitals as part of a Blended Learning framework that integrates modern simulation with real-world clinical application.
The program aims to cultivate students’ clinical proficiencies and analytical capabilities. This is achieved through the study of virtual medical cases on campus using advanced simulation techniques, followed by hands-on clinical rotations at the following teaching hospitals:
* Al-Salam Teaching Hospital
* Ibn Sina Teaching Hospital
* Al-Jumhouri Teaching Hospital
* Al-Batool Teaching Hospital
* Ibn Al-Atheer Teaching Hospital
The training curriculum involves managing diverse medical cases within the wards of Internal Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Surgery, and Pediatrics. It emphasizes the analysis of pharmacological interventions and therapeutic mechanisms, ensuring a robust integration between theoretical knowledge and practical execution.
This initiative aligns with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education), reflecting the College of Pharmacy’s commitment to producing highly qualified pharmaceutical professionals capable of fulfilling their professional and humanitarian roles in serving the community.
